The origins of Walker Management Limited began in Walker Richardson a Chartered Quantity Surveying practice that has been involved in housing since the practice’s inception in 1947.

The Practice subsequently expanded and diversified to form the separate company of Walker Management to act as Employer’s Agents, Project Managers, Planning Supervisors, Building Surveyors, Party Wall Surveyors, Site Inspectors and where contract procurement permits, Partnering Advisor. Walker Richardson undertakes those commissions which are exclusively quantity surveying or construction cost related, whilst Walker Management acts on project management and related commissions.

Walker Richardson and Walker Management operate from a head office in North Finchley, London and a branch office in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. The combined practice has a team of over 40 people.

Our core business is housing and the public sector and to date the Practice has been associated with a range of developments covering values from £100,000 to £100 million that include:

  • Major new build projects of up to 800 dwellings.
  • Special needs development including EMI, Frail Elderly and Care in the Community projects.
  • Rehabilitation projects of up to 1200 dwellings including Listed period properties.
  • Tenant in Place major repair programmes.
  • Foyer projects.
  • Conversion/redevelopment of Tower Blocks.
  • Extensive development of ‘Brown Field’ sites and inner city redevelopment.
  • Multi-use developments on single sites incorporating such activities as traditional rented social housing, shared-ownership, market rent, private sale, care facilities, commercial activities, health and education.
  • Estate regeneration schemes facilitated by initiatives such as SRB, ERCF and New Deal for Communities

We are involved with contract procurement using all major contract forms, including partnering. We utilise all forms of construction and actively promote Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and off-site manufacture.
